Farmers Cooperative is a full service cooperative with products and services offered in energy, grain, feed, agronomy, and tire departments. We are an aggressive company always looking towards the future and trying to bring more opportunities, markets, and abilities to our local producers. There are 60 locations serving southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas with our main office located in Dorchester, NE.

 A Day in the Life:

An Operations Specialist works hard every day to ensure that our grain handling and storage facilities and agronomy facilities are in top-notch shape. This is a hands-on position requiring you to work outside in all kinds of weather. Your main responsibilities on a day to day basis are housekeeping and maintenance duties to keep our bins up and running, grain handling, loading and unloading grain on both trucks and trains; as well as tendering for applicators, loading and handling fertilizer, chemicals, and herbicide, filling anhydrous tanks, and working closely with agronomy. You will also work with a wide range of equipment from: tractor/trailer, skid steers, forklifts, wheel loaders, and tractors with attachments. Safety is always our number one priority and we do everything we can to ensure the safest work environments for our employees, but there are some hazards involved with working in a train load-out and agronomy facility. These hazards include exposure to fertilizers and chemicals, grain dust, electrical, fall, and trip hazards, and grain engulfment and entanglement. The Operations Specialist position rewards employees who pay attention to details, take initiative and work hard every single day to ensure that our customers are treated well and our facilities stay in good condition.

The Cooperative operates under the "all hands-on deck" philosophy when it comes to getting things done.  Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
